Introduction of The National Trust
The National Trust is a statutory body of Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, set up under the “National Trust Act 1999 for the Welfare of Persons with Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Mental Retardation and Multiple Disabilities” (Act 44 of 1999).

Objectives of The National Trust
The objectives of the National Trust in particular are:
• to enable and empower persons with disability to live as independently and as fully as possible within and as close to their community as possible;
• to evolve procedures for appointments of guardians and trustees for persons with disabilities requiring such protection.
• to extend support to its registered organisations to provide need based services; and
• to facilitate the realisation of equal opportunities, protection of rights and full participation of persons with disability;

An inclusive society which values human diversity and enables and empowers full participation of Persons with Disability to live independently with dignity, equal rights and opportunities.

Website & Scheme Management System
In Digital India campaign, NGO Registration, Scheme Enrolment and Fund Disbursement process have been made online. The office working on Paperless, Faceless and Cashless way to give transparency in the system. Registration fee and Donation are being received through Payment Gateway and Fund Disbursement through NEFT/RTGS.

We have also made Scheme Management System (SMS) for the processing of applications online. This system is being used by all dealing hands and officers. When user submits their application, it comes to the dealing hand and after satisfaction, it is sent to dealing officer and JS&CEO for final approval.


The Schemes of National Trust:
• DISHA–The scheme aims at providing Early Intervention to children of 0-10 yrs age group through Therapy and Training. The scheme also intends to provide counseling and guidance especially for activities for Daily Living (ADL) to parents or guardians. Recurring grants @Rs. 4,500 per beneficiaries is provided under the scheme.
• VIKAAS–A day care scheme assisted by professionals and to develop interfaced skills for persons with Autism, CP, MR & MD to enhance inter-personnel and vocational skills. 30 (BPL+LIG) @3,850/-
• SAMARTH–The scheme aims at providing respite homes for orphans or abandoned PwDs, families in crises and for PwDs from BPL and LIG families. Recurring grant of Rs. 7000/- per month per beneficiaries is given under the scheme.
• GHARAUNDA–The scheme aims at providing home with minimum quality of care services throughout the life of the PwDs. Vocational, pre-vocational and re-creational activities are also provided. Recurring grant of Rs. 10,000/- per month per beneficiaries is given under the scheme.
• NIRAMAYA–To provide affordable Health Insurance upto Rs. 1 lakh (covering Surgery, OPD, Therapy etc) to persons with Autism, CP, MR & MD. No age bar.
• SAHYOGI-Training of Care Associates, to take care of persons with Autism, CP, MR & MD, Creating skilled work force for caring of Divyangjan.
• GYAN PRABHA-A scheme to encourage people with Autism, CP, MR & MD for pursuing professional courses and graduation/post graduation courses.
• PRERNA–Provide opportunity to display and sale products developed by persons with NT disabilities at national, state, regional and local level exhibitions/fares/programmes.
• SAMBHAV–Display of suitable assistive devices and accessible set up for improving the quality of life in terms of mobility, communication and performing their daily activities independently.
• BADHTE KADAM–Awareness generation, sensitization and social integration of Divyangjan in the community and for supporting innovative project/activities.
